According to the Samsung site https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00088244/ 

"Galaxy SmartTag is only compatible with Samsung Galaxy phones. Use with a Galaxy smartphone running Android 8.0 or higher with 2.0GB RAM and above. SmartThings app required."

so does the s 10 have android 8.0 and up with 2.0 GB of RAM

there are 2 different types of Smart tags. the close range smart tag will work with your device but the higher range one will not

oh okay is one newer and one older or are they both newer

they are both new. One is designed (I think it's the UWB model) for the newer S21 coming and other devices. It will take advantage of some newer features not included with the lower grade (LWB) model. the lower range model will use geo tagging and bluetooth also but is not as accurate. will get you within about 10 foot. The more expensive model for high end Tiered devices will use all of those resources and a bit more getting you within inches on an onscreen map Hope that Helps
