What kind of adapter do I need to connect a flash drive to my Galaxy Tab A?

I have a Galaxy Tab A SMT 510. I would like to put some of its files on a USB flashdrive. What connector do I need to connect a flash drive to my device?

Same port as your power plug..its either USB micro or USB C type. You can by a thumb drive with that port or you can get a card reader and use SD micro memory. I have a USB C to USB A 3.0 that I can also plug into my desktop.

Thanks. But I have already connected the thumb drive to the USB type C power plug via a data cable but do not " see" the thumb drive anywhere. Should it show up in " storage" along with " internal " and " micro sd " ?

Good afternoon. To connect your drive to the tablet, you will need a USB - USB(C) OTG adapter.

You can buy a cheap USB C combo A, drive anywhere. And just pop it in. Or you can get a combo USB adapter that takes mIcro USB card, usb A, etc. How I hook my external hard drive to mines.

Thanks for the input. I had tried that but did not work. Then got a usb to usb c OTG connector ( also cheap) and that did the trick.
