Galaxy A54: Unable to get past the Welcome Screen

Can't get past Welcome screen on new A54. Where are the pre loaded apps/home screen?

When I powered on my A54 the Welcome screen opens and asks me to insert a sim card. I cannot get beyond this screen to the Home screen where preloaded apps should appear, one of which should be Smart Switch so that I can transfer data from my Pixel to A54.

And yes, I have tried powering off and get the same Welcome screen. I should also add I did not insert the sim because that is done after transfer, according to any instructions I have researched.

You can insert the SIM. That shouldn't effect the SmartSwitch transfer whatsoever.
