Do you have a Galaxy Watch paired? Often a notification setting causes this issue. Happened to me 2 weeks ago with Messages. Somehow the setting to not alert on the phone when the watch is connected got turned on.

I sincerely thank you for your suggestion...I have already made sure about that but the strange thing is that even when I go to the gmail app notification settings even though all options such as pop-UP BANNER and lock screen notifications are ON the phone will not even drop a banner when an email comes in. Almost I get us a gmail icon on top and nothing else...do you also own a z fold 5 ?
Hello Bill How have you been ? I have 3 Gmail accounts on my Z Fold 5 bit suddenly one of them stopped sending notifications altogether. All 3 accounts have the same exact settings. Any thoughts? Thanks Ken
I own a Fold 5 and don't use GMail but I set it up just for you 😉
In Notification->Apps->Gmail->Notification Categories->Long press on Mail for each email account and in that menu, Allow Notifications and Show as Popup.
Doing that my Gmail showed a popup, which can be either Brief or Detailed under Settings->Notifications->Notification Popup Style
