Will 5G work on the Galaxy Note 9 and 10?

I have a galaxy note 9 and 10. Will 5G work on my phones ?

In order to use 5G, it needs to have a 5G antenna. Your Note 9 is not compatible but your Note 10 is.

Yes, upgrade your Note 9 to a newer phone that is designated as 5g capable

I have the Galaxy S21 5G and I use 4G all the time because the 5G network is not that much worth it. I'd keep your Note 9 if I were you

4G will always be available, but I'm pretty sure they'll shut down the 3G network soon

@userzWMwA3AOft The Note 9 does not have 5G hardware. 

Not sure which "10" you have. Most "10" models do not have 5G hardware. The 3 exceptions are:

• The Galaxy S10 5G, model SM-G977
• The Galaxy Note 10 5G, model SM-N971
• The Galaxy Note 10+ 5G, model SM-N976

4G will still be available for quite a while. It is the backup network when the 5G signal isn't available or gets overloaded.

Note 10 5g is the only one compatible. My Note 10 plus is not 5G and so not 5G compatible. However 4G will be around for at least the next five to 10 years so no worries. Basic 5G is not much faster than 4 G.

To clarify:

• SM-G973 S10 is NOT 5G.
• SM-N970 Note 10 is NOT 5G.
• SM-N975 Note 10+ is NOT 5G.

And:

• SM-G977 S10 5G is 5G.  
• SM-N971 Note 10 5G is 5G.
• SM-N976 Note 10+ 5G is 5G.
