I've had my S9+ for less than two weeks; but in that time, the Samsung Music app has stopped working. A few days ago, it began rapidly cycling through tracks whenever play was selected. No music played, and after quickly cycling through about a dozen tracks, it just stopped in pause mode. This happens whether I'm on shuffle or not, and whether I'm playing songs, albums, always. I've tried problem solving with Samsung Chat, including performing a factory reset, to no avail. The support specialist said it must be a "hardware problem," and recommended I mail the phone to Samsung. I'm about to uninstall and find a different musicmusi. Any ideas?
If it can't be easily repaired, is be interested in recommendations for a different free music app.

Galaxy S PhonesDo you have some music files on your computer?
If so, try this:
Take the SD card out of your phone
Then connect your phone to your computer
Copy a few songs to the internal memory of the phone
Try to play these music files on your phone
DO NOT copy the files from the SD card.....I believe they are the problem.

Galaxy S PhonesUdi9, the music on internal file played fine, so I guess your analysis is correct that the music files on my SD card are corrupted. I am backed up, so what is best way to cleanse the card of the corrupted files?

Galaxy S PhonesI would suggest connecting it to a computer and reformat it.

Galaxy S PhonesFormat your card inside your phone and then copy the new music files to it.

Galaxy S PhonesThanks to everyone for all of the helpful suggestions thus far. I'll have to put a temporary hold on my responses for now, as I've discovered that my SD card is corrupted and I'll be purchasing a new one. Hope to be back next week with an update. 😁

Galaxy S PhonesUpdates: New SD Card mounted and files restored (except for corrupted music files). After loaded new music on new card and is playing fine. Thanks for everyone's help, especially Udi9 for the killer suggestion!

Galaxy S PhonesOne annoying thing with transition to new phone, if I can prevail upon this group a bit longer. I have no trouble using files and apps stored on the new SD card. However, when I restart the phone, I get a warning that my SD card cannot be decrypted on this phone because it was encrypted on a different phone. Fwiw, it is encrypted on the new phone. Any suggestions on how to make the warnings stop?

That's strange.
Which card do you have? and what capacity?
Did you format the card inside the phone before starting using it?
If you have a card reader, or a laptop with an SD card slot (and you're willing to experiment), try to format the card inside your computer to exFAT.
I believe that should work.
