S20fe worked fine for a 3 weeks or so, but I wasn't content with the display quality so I decided to go all out and get the s21ultra. Phones comes in, I transfer the data to the s21ultra and noticed that it overheats quickly. Did a factory reset but nothing. Now the s20fe overheats too. The s20fe all of a sudden updated (has 120hz option, enhanced processing etc. That it did not show prior to the s21ultra data transfer) Did I do something wrong? I turned off sync to both phones yet the s21ultra still restored apps. I'm afraid to factory reset both phones simultaneously but maybe Samsung cloud has something to do with it?

I understand how frustrating this can be. Whether you're using a phone, tablet, smartwatch, or earbuds, all Galaxy devices have a set temperature range, where they operate at their best. While they may feel warm under certain conditions, like charging, this does not affect the device's lifespan or performance. However, if your devices get too warm, it could cause some issues. Give this link a try: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00076952/

Have you tried clearing the cache partition? https://thedroidguy.com/wipe-cache-partition-galaxy-s21-1147707 The steps should be similar for the S20 fe.

Are you following these steps for restoring the data to the S21 Ultra? https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00084163/ Please note that the sync of the Gallery and Drive Sync for My Files is no longer available in Samsung Cloud.

If your phone is getting too warm to touch, repairs would be recommended in order to have the technicians evaluate the device. This would be covered under the warranty. You may look into walk-in service repair options at your local uBreakiFix: https://www.ubreakifix.com/locations

Samsung also offers ship-in repair options. To look into ship-in options, you can private message us here with the full model code and IMEI number: https://bit.ly/3pE8Pkc
