*edit: I returned the phone to AT&T and got a different one. The new phone has the exact same problem, so it's definitely a bug of some kind. Any video recorded on 9x16 60fps has this flicker indoors. I've posted an example of the flicker below. My Note 20 and my brothers normal S22 do not flicker like this using the same settings in the same light condition, so it's definitely not just the lights.

The camera on my new S22 ultra flickers really bad when I set the framerate higher than 30fps. It happens with any indoor lighting. I understand cameras and LED lights do not get along well, but my note 20 could capture video just fine 1080p@60fps without any image flickering under the same lighting conditions.

The camera is pretty much unusable in its current state. I really hope Samsung engineers have a software update incoming to fix this issue. It's completely unacceptable for a flagship phone to have such a glaring issue at launch. Did Samsung not test the camera indoors?

Thank you for reaching out. I understand your concern with your Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra camera not functioning as expected. If your phone or tablet is misbehaving, it's possible that a third-party app is causing the issue. To figure out what app is acting funny, you can use the Safe mode feature. In Safe mode, your device won't run any third-party apps. Give this link a try to test your device in Safe Mode:

https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062983/

Next step I would recommend is to reset your camera settings. This takes your camera back to the default settings. Give this link a try for steps to reset camera settings :  https://www.samsung.com/za/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-reset-the-camera-settings-on-my-samsung-g...

Another thing you can try is wiping cache partition. The system cache partition stores temporary system data. It's supposed to allow the system to access apps more quickly and efficiently, but sometimes things get cluttered and outdated, so a periodic cache clearing can help make the system run more smoothly. https://thedroidguy.com/wipe-cache-partition-galaxy-s22-1166388

The final step in troubleshooting the flickering concern would be to do a factory reset. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062029/

If the flickering persists after completing all troubleshooting, it is recommended to have the phone evaluated by a certified technician. You can use the following link to find a list of service centers in the U.S. that can do the repair: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location or by calling customer support at 1-800-726-7864. For service outside of the U.S., please use this link: https://www.samsung.com/us/common/visitlocationsite.html.  I do apologize for any inconvenience.

I don't have any problems with mine. Check YouTube, they have everything there. Check out sakitech, he's got videos on everything Samsung. Hope you figure it out. 😊

yep, same problem with mine. I have to leave it on 30fps if taking video at night and it's awful video quality. if I set it to anything higher than 30 it's not even usable and a complete waste of time trying. my camera works decent if I don't zoom it in at all, but as soon as I try it goes grainy and blur becomes very apparent in every shot.

It would be helpful if you shared an example of the flickering video. Is it similar to this?

Here is an example of the flicker. Happened with both s22 ultras I tested. Brothers regular s22 does not have this flickering under the same lighting condition with the same settings.

yeah thanks for sharing, that looks similar to the one I posted in the subway

Interesting I get a slight flickering as well on 9:16 when I pan around indoors.

My issues I am having is when recording I'll get black waves going across my screen but doesn't effect the playback. There's a lot of glitches with this phone.

With your S22 ultra can you test it on video mode fhd 9x16 60fps and let me know what your results are indoors? I'm wondering if there are different versions of the camera sensor.

I found a few more forum threads with people discussing this same issue, so this is a known thing. I'd be curious to know if this is an issue Samsung has acknowledged and if a fix is being worked on.
