Galaxy S23+ is not certified with Play Protect certification?

Hey,

I just got my new Samsung Galaxy s23+ and noticed that my device is not certified with Play Protect certification. Does anyone know a fix for this?

@Captured A new S23+ should be certified. How did you determine this? You can use the steps indicated in https://support.google.com/android/answer/10248227?hl=en

Hey, @LongHiker  I bought my phone from the offical Samsung store. I determined it wasnt certified by going into Play Store > settings > About > and scrolling to the bottom.

 

I have done everything from factory resetting the device to make sure everything has been updated

Bought direct from samsung too. Exact same issue. Brand new phone delivered this morning. Play store says device not certified.

No, I'm in the UK but this is the most recent topic that came up with this situation. Strangely, I don't seem to be  having issues with my bank/google wallet/Netflix app, which would usually be the most adverse to a not certified device.

Australia, contacted samsung. They said to return phone to store. So pretty much they have no clue what's happening. Tried to blame Google play store.

I am based in NZ, contacted Samsung they want me to send it to a repair specialist. Not sure what they can do since it seems like a software issue so might be wasting my time. Not sure if a new device would fix this issue too. Happy to wait if there is a fix coming soon.

@Captured Please message one of the higher ranked individuals here, or one of the "Member Stars." They will be more than happy to help you out and may know more of a region-specific reason that might be causing this.
