Galaxy S24Hi All
I've just got my S24+ today to upgrade my trusty but ageing S10+ having not strayed from Samsung for almost 10 years. Naturally I was hoping it would be an upgrade in all departments but although on the whole it is, there's several annoying and unexpected downgrades that are making me seriously question whether it's actually worth spending quite a bit of money to change.
Firstly, the screen although pin sharp is really washed out. Even in vivid mode the colours are dull and the blacks are significantly more grey than the S10 screen, and even look washed out when put alongside my wife's budget spec A52! I've played around with brightness and colour tone etc but I can't dial it out, and my cousin who's got an S24 Ultra said exactly the same when comparing it against the S22 it's replacing.
Then there's some bizarre features missing from OneUI 6.1, the ones I've noticed so far are specifically in the Always On Display settings. I use AOD to display as a bedside clock, with my S10 and also in OneUI 6.0 / Android 14 on the A52 you can rotate the AOD to landscape orientation and control the brightness, you could even do the latter from the AOD lock screen by tapping twice on the clock to access the brightness slider. In OneUI 6.1 unless I'm missing something it seems all that functionality is missing, the brightness of the AOD is linked to the main screen brightness setting which is far too bright for overnight use, and you can't set it to landscape mode which I'd prefer when on it's horizontal night stand next to the bed. Why this functionality would be omitted I have no idea, but it's really annoying! Please someone enlighten me to some hidden menu somewhere that fixes all these issues?! š

Galaxy S24I totally agree, post update camera performance is still not good at all. Photos are over corrected. Moreover, the ultra wide video loses details on the x0.6 zoom. I am quite disappointed and find myself looking for any article that might discuss or announce another camera update but to my disappointment there isnt any

Galaxy S24I have a 3 week old S24 Ultra with all these issues, I already traded in my S23 though, so now I'm stuck with this inferior S24U. The phone is fast enough but the screen quality and camera is absolute garbage, I can easily see the mura effect in every menu. Should I return this now and buy something else? If I keep it, can I get it swapped out later for a non busted one when yields improve? This is absolute dog water for a device this expensive, lol. Samsung do you read these comments? If you dont want to lose a bunch of people to other brands you better fix this ASAP.

Galaxy S24The color banding and grain issues are still visible on my s24+ even after the recent vividness update. Anything blurred, it is the most visible. I can see jagged pixilated edges. It is quite distracting sometimes, especially while watching videos. I love the color and quality of the screen, don't get me wrong. But this is the only flaw in the s24 series in my opinion. (Could always do better with battery life. š but that's okay.) Please please please let us know if this is can be fixed via a software update! I love this phone and don't want to return it, but the grain issues are making me consider it.

Galaxy S24I upgraded today from the s23 ultra to the s24. I went straight to Google when I noticed my wallpaper looked horrible compared to my s23 wallpaper (same photo). I went to my settings to turn on vivid mode and there's no difference. Extremely disappointing and honestly really bothers me
