Wondering if anyone has had success adding this to their cellular service plan? I was told by Xfinity (Verizon towers) that the watch isn't compatible.

When I read the guidelines and look at Samsung website, everything aligns and should be compatible.

I'm thinking something is wrong on their end, maybe because of how soon I have the watch and they are still doing pre orders for watches sold through Xfinity.

Update: myself and others are in contact with Xfinity mobile specialist awaiting a response to this problem.

Update: just received a call from corporate. This watch is currently not supported on their network when purchased directly from Samsung. Only way right now is to directly purchase a watch from Xfinity. There is no time line as to when the device purchased from Samsung will be integrated with the Xfinity system. I was told there are only 3 watch devices they allow on their network for "bring your own devices". I told him it should clearly state which watches are not compatible as BYOD. He said "the website does say not all devices are compatible" to which I responded "that's such a blanket statement, on the page specially for devices, it could easily state what devices you can and can't bring specifically for galaxy ".

Only options are
1. Return to Samsung and purchase from Xfinity (last I check it was sold out anyway)
2. Wait for the intergration
3. Switch carriers
4. Give up on celluar network .

Not the news I was looking for but I guess I'm not surprised by it. Look how long it took them to even have Galaxy watches on their network!

@chitty Yes, that could most definitely be the reason why you're having problems. When I got my S10+, I received it almost a full month early the day of the announcement at the Unpacked event in San Fransisco. Sprint wasn't able to register my phone on their network due to it being unreleased. Thankfully (ironically) Verizon was. I purchased a 1-month prepaid plan from them and then transferred to Sprint the following month. 🤣

Possible. Or maybe you need a different rep that knows how to do it?

I tried 2 different reps. The first one didn't comprehend what I was explaining. The 2nd rep tried their best and even thought I needed a software update 🤷‍:male_sign:. Both failed attempts. I figured I'd wait until maybe Friday and try again.

I'm not expert in this field at all to be honest. It may be that they're not set up for this, it could also be lack of training or many things. To be honest I would ask to speak to a supervisor at this point, since this is sold by this company, but can't provide the adequate service for this product. Doesn't make sense they can't hook this up to their network.

@ybarshavit In Sprint's case years ago with my S10+, it wasn't allowing them to enter the phone IMEI into their system, because the system didn't recognize the device. It showed up as "Unknown."

Same problem here with T-Mobile. They entered all of my info into their system and still no cell service. Told me it would take 72 hours to fix. I chatted online with Samsung support and they told me they would send out an update this week. I am giving it to Friday and if it still doesn’t connect, I will go back to my 5 Pro.
