Why in the world would you take away the ability to back up our watches manually in the Wearable app? Make it make sense, I have to wait for what is now "PERIODICALLY" to back up my watch, how often is periodically? If you switch to store backups to Samsung Cloud, how does that work, when does that happen?

If anyone knows the answer please let me know!

In my opinion I like it. It's a easy automatic process now. If it stops backing up completely that would be bad. Now you don't have to worry about remembering to back up your watch. It already will be..

As posted by me:

Besides, found out a long time ago it seems, use the SmartSwitch one to back up actual watchfaces and stuff, as the other backup only backs up data/settings, not actual watchfaces. Actually proved that when had to restore a while back. tried tge save (normal) and had to hunt down and manually reinstall watchfaces again. So, SmartSwitch is done 1st, then regular 2nd. NEVER FAILED ME. This is why MANUAL BACKUPS MUST BE BROUGHT BACK. Otherwise this "update" is useless to me, making watch useless.

You really don't have to worry anymore. I have so many Samsung watches it's nuts. So I'm constantly restoring watches as i switch between phones and watches every few days. But since the information is in the watch and wear app also. I have had no issues whatsoever. When restoring you can choose each category to restore. The watch faces now associated with my account automatically come back it just takes longer .often people don't realize it's still processing in the back ground. So they turn the watch off of leave a service area before completing. The only time a watch face won't pop up any more is if it's no longer supported for the current software. But I do understand that people want what they want. So it's certainly a feature that could be left or brought back. I do believe the idea was automation One less thing for the customer to worry about. But I do hear what your saying .

Has ANYone successfully gotten a backup on the watch 5 Pro? I've seen a lot of posts asking how to manually do it -- and realize that's not an option. No big deal for me. I am just wondering if anyone has successfully gotten a backup via the automation. I 'thought' I turned mine on yesterday, but I didn't get a successful backup overnight. So I'm wondering 1. Did I do something wrong. 2. Is the automatic working? What am I doing wrong. (I'm sure it's me!)

Auto backups are working for my Watch 5 Pro. I had one created in the early morning hours last night. Usually, it's around 2-4am every day.
