Samsung Q990D unresponsive after 1020 firmware update

Since the update, the soundbar is unresponsive and can't be reset.

Seems like quite a few people with the issue

Same here mate! Spent hrs last night thinking I'd messed something up! Then another 2hrs on Samsung chat this morning having me do this and do that and still nothing 😭 apparently an engineer is coming out 🤷🏻 mines 4 months old, I'm in the UK :united_kingdom:

Same issue, stuck on HDMI 1, not responding to remote except for power, no sound, unable to reset.  What are our options?

Same problem here. As instructed by Samsung Tech Support, I sent the soundbar only to their Repair Center two days ago.

same problem here, unresponsive. Only showing “tv earc” no matter what. Can’t be factory reset with holding the volume buttons.

I have the same problem. My sounder seems to be bricked since the last update. I have the Q990D and am based in the UK

I have the same issue.
Came home to a non-responding soundbar.

Reset with plus-minus buttons does not work.

Turning the soundbar on/off with remote works.
Display only shows eARC as source.

USB update does not work. Tried freshly formated USB stick with NTFS and FAT32. but no luck.

same thing it’s happening to me too. based in Spain, last night watching a movie everything reset and after only appears tv earc on display, also it appears offline in smartthings and can’t do nothing

Same problem here, Q800D - in sweden

Displays "TV EARC" over and over again. Cannot reset. nNothing works
