My Samsung UN43TU690T has a black screen, but the sound works. I have tried troubleshooting by unplugging it for a while and then plugging it back in, I have tried the flashlight test I read about online, still does not work. Anyone have any idea what is going on? I have never had this happen with a TV until now.
It sounds like the board that sends the picture to the screen has went bad I would suggest contacting support and having a technician diagnosis the issue https://www.samsung.com/us/support/contact/

Thank you for your reply? Is this something I would be able to test, or look in certain spot to see if something looks bad? I am assuming the cost to bring someone to look at the TV is about the same, if not more than the cost of a new TV.
The only thing you can do is unplug for a little bit and see if it comes back
