Greetings,

I have a Samsung QN90AA 50 Tv and YouTube TV. Up until last night it had worked for some years.

Now there is no video or sound. The guide shows up and all the settings tabs and so on. There is even the option to resume a previously viewed show and I can click on that.

No video at all. It is stuck on  a black screen with the little circle spinning.

If I click on the resume show windows, there is a commercial for some 3 minutes. The commercial video shows. No problem. there little timer is there to show the 3 minutes going by. Then upon completion, the screen goes black with the spinning circle.

I have done the following: power recycle, reinstall, clear cache, delete Smart Hub and reset to factory specs. No change.

In looking at the nerd information there is NO "Network Activity" The connection speed shows as well as the buffer health.

Also, YouTube TV works fine on my Samsung S21, desktop, laptop, tablet and Roku device. No problem.

The Samsung TV is connected via hardware to the router. There is WiFi also. Tried both connections. Just in case there was a hard wire issue. Zero luck there.

Up until now, there was not any issue. Download speed is about 120 Mps and upload is about 60 Mps.

The short answer is no. I do not have a solution.

I recently received an email from YTTV customer support informing me that they fixed the problem. But no, they have not.

I just sent in a new service ticket request.

This was the most recent email to me. November 27th

This is XXXX, from YouTube TV. We've got an update from the specialist team. Please let us know if the issue persists and if it does, kindly let us know.

Moreover, as an act of goodwill, I would like to grant your account 2 weeks of free time as compensation for this issue. If you want this offer, kindly reply to this email so that we can process.

Best regards,

I just heard from YTTV after my ticket submission...again.

The person told me that he would send it to the next level which is what they say all the time.

If there is a resolution, I will post it for sure.

By the way, I sent a link to this community forum and the YTTV c/s person read my original writ.

At least he understands which may not really translate to success.

Same problem but only with Sling with less than a year old S89C. Quit working a couple days after upgrading to One UI about a month ago and just get the spinning circle. . . except occasionally a commercial or two will play initially (always the same ones) after clicking on a channel and then the circle, which is really weird.  Did pretty much everything to try and fix it. Every other streaming app works.

Then decided to check it about a week later and it worked like normal for a couple days until the power happened to go out for a minute (power co. issue) and hasn't worked since. I called Sling and only got that they would let the developers know, but haven't contacted Samsung. I'm almost certain its a Samsung OS glitch given the time frame with my firmware upgrade and doubt it's much of a concern to them.

I should add that Sling originally worked after the firmware upgrade until I used the NextGen tv channel tuner to watch OTA tv. The screen saver came on while the tv program was playing (not a static image) just like it did before the firmware update came out that fixed that problem shortly after I got the tv. After I pushed a button to end the screen saver, the screen kinda glitched and the screen saver never came back since.  And that's when the Sling problem started (I used the tv tuner and Sling before the upgrade with no problem).

The tv tuner has always been kinda funky, especially the NextGen part. It will randomly "block" several NextGen channels and will not lock in the signal, when the signal is fine. Then a minute or two later the channels work. And I think it's doing the same "blocking" to Sling, although permanently.

I wonder if clearing the cache will work for your Sling issues. Just a thought.

Also try a hard shutdown by holding the power button until the TV reboots.

Thanks but I tried all the "fixes" to no avail. All the similar threads on here indicate it's a software problem and we need an update asap.

I just checked the download page for my tv and few others and the last 2011.x update (one UI) has been removed (it was there a few days ago when I checked) and the prior 2000.2 is the only one there now.

Sorry you are having even further issues. I think it is the Tazan OS for Samsung, but Samsung will not do anything as each time I contacted them, they deferred me back to You Tube TV.

As for YouTube TV, they have been very kind in all the responses. No resolution mind you, but kind.

I now have another ticket created referencing the original. I counted the number of messages and explanations I sent to them...30 since June. I keep getting told that they have sent it to the higher level of care.

The reason I started this thread was to see if others had a solution but now it is becoming a shared problem listing. I sent a copy of this link to YouTube TV customer support so they could see the growing issues as well.

The removal of the 2011.x One UI firmware download by Samsung is a good thing as it apparently indicates that they know it has problems. There probably will be a new firmware update as soon as they figure things out. In the meanwhile, an external streaming device seems to be the only solution.

My uneducated technical opinion is that this isn't a problem with the streaming apps as doesn't affect just one app. The apps work with other devices with One UI such as phones, just not not with some TVs since the firmware update.

Just going to add onto this thread here with the same problem on a QN90AA (50 in)

I'm new to Youtube.tv so I can't say for sure that it worked previously. However, I do know that sometime last Spring a lot of my Samsung apps starting having trouble. Looking at it now, I'm going to assume that a firmware update broke something.

Youtube.tv - Clicking to watch any content, live or recorded, results in a spinner that never ends

Roku - can watch some live channels while others only show a black screen, can't watch any on-demand content. Have been working with Roku for months without any resolution. Worked previously.

Pluto TV - can watch streaming content but not any on-demand content. Worked previously.

Tubi - Works fine (surprisingly)

Amazon Prime - Works fine (not surprisingly since I'm guessing they have a ton of engineers)

Samsung TV - Works fine (of course)

My software version says T-NKM2AKUC-2210.0, BT-S for whatever that's worthā€¦

Edit: Probably should have mentioned over the past several months that I have reset and rebooted the TV several times, uninstalled and re-installed apps countless times, and cleared caches as well. I also tried using a wireless connection in place of my usual wired one. No change in any of the apps.
