In the last few weeks, Samsung updated the OS to the Frame TV and a function that I regularly used is no longer available. I'm writing in hope that someone can suggest a workaround (or if Samsung engineers read this, to bring the function back).

I have an Apple TV 4K media streamer for my Frame 55" 2022 TV. I'm assuming that other media streamers such as Chromecast, Roku, etc. would have a similar behavior that I am getting now post-OS update.
 
Prior to the update, I would be watching TV using the Apple TV 4K steamer, conclude for the evening, power off the streamer with the Siri remote, and the Frame would instantly go into the Art Mode and display artwork for 30 minutes (my settings) before the Frame would go to sleep. Post upgrade, I power off the streamer (Apple tells me the streamer goes to sleep, not powering off), but instead of the Frame displaying artwork, it is searching for a media source:

My only recourse now is to use the Samsung remote and manually navigate to the Art Mode and select the artwork, a multi-step process.
 
Is anyone else who is using a streamer experiencing this, and do you have a workaround?

Just piling on to say I'm experiencing the same thing. Automatically switching to art mode is THE reason we spent hundreds of extra dollars on our Frame TVs and they break it! We are at their mercy to fix this, and I don't like it.

Before I disabled Samsung's live tv app, I'd sleep the Apple TV and it would automatically switch to one of those channels instead of "check device power" so that was... fun.

My workaround stopped working also. Now I get that message on the screen "check device power". I'm back to just turning the stupid thing off again.

On the phone for a hour with Samsung…result of the conversation…it’s apple’s fault.  Thanks Samsung.

That’s! Mine works based on what @Russel-, the Samsung tech and I did over the course of an hour a month ago. Unfortunately, I can’t say exactly what we did, but it works (see my solution, as much as it is, nine posts down on the first page of this thread). I also disabled auto update so nothing like that happens to my TV again.

My advice, keep hammering on Samsung support until somehow this gets elevated and corrected.

Samsung told me it's also Microsoft and Google's fault. This is clearly a Samsung software issue.

Hello, I'm French and I have the same issue with my Samsung Frame TV 2023 and my Apple TV 4K... I WANT THE ART MODE WHEN I SHUT DOWN MY APPLE TV 4K !

Same here, a brand new The Frame 2023 32" with an ATV. It worked the first time I installed the ATV and turned it into sleep mode, The Frame then went into Art mode. The second time I did this, the "Check source" window got displayed instead. 

 

Samsung fix this asap!

So glad I found this thread! Been dealing with this for about a month, spent over an hour on the phone with Samsung and the tech’s solution was that I just start using 2 remotes. What a joke. The picture on this thing is pretty abysmal but forgiven based on the fact that I don’t have to have a big black rectangle on the wall when not viewing.  If the art mode doesn’t work like before this thing is going in the trash. Gotta love when companies “improve” software with this type of annoyance. What a frustrating experience driving me crazy!

Same! So frustrating, I thought I was going crazy over here but sounds like everybody is having the exact same issues!! They really need to fix this so we can enjoy the tv for the only reason we bought it!!

I’ve been having this same issue for the past month. It’s incredibly frustrating because it was working just fine before the Samsung update. Anybody know how we can escalate this with Samsung?
