QLED and The Frame TVs

In the last few weeks, Samsung updated the OS to the Frame TV and a function that I regularly used is no longer available. I'm writing in hope that someone can suggest a workaround (or if Samsung engineers read this, to bring the function back).

I have an Apple TV 4K media streamer for my Frame 55" 2022 TV. I'm assuming that other media streamers such as Chromecast, Roku, etc. would have a similar behavior that I am getting now post-OS update.

Prior to the update, I would be watching TV using the Apple TV 4K steamer, conclude for the evening, power off the streamer with the Siri remote, and the Frame would instantly go into the Art Mode and display artwork for 30 minutes (my settings) before the Frame would go to sleep. Post upgrade, I power off the streamer (Apple tells me the streamer goes to sleep, not powering off), but instead of the Frame displaying artwork, it is searching for a media source:

My only recourse now is to use the Samsung remote and manually navigate to the Art Mode and select the artwork, a multi-step process.

Is anyone else who is using a streamer experiencing this, and do you have a workaround?

Thanks,
David

After we turn off Bluey, we get a continuous running of  Kitchen.  I don’t know which is worse.

Okay Samsung, please fix this. I visited this thread about a month ago and just came back to it to see if there was an update. Doesn’t look like there is. Does anyone know if you can download previous firmware versions? I know you can update through USB. Maybe you could go back that way? I visited Samsung’s download page and you can only download the latest (broken) version.

I am also experiencing this issue. This is dreadful UX and the firmware needs to be rolled back or updated immediately. Please acknowledge you are working on this, Samsung.

Came back to see if there’s any movement by Samsung on this. Seriously Samsung are you completely unaware of what’s going on with your updates?

Some (not necessarily the right people) at Samsung are aware. Here is my ongoing text exchange with first level support. But I keep pushing...

The problem is that the Level 1 support Agent may have little to no leverage at all on this problem... He may be as helpless as we are. And I'm not confident that Samsung is working on this, otherwise a Beta firmware would have been released already. It's not a small issue, at all.

This defeats the entire point of paying a gigantic premium for a frame TV

Just bought a frame tv, and I am extremely disappointed with my purchase because the Apple TV can’t switch to art mode. I tried all the workarounds in here, and it only worked once after power cycling. I have a 9 year old Samsung tv that can properly turn off with the Apple TV remote, and I am disappointed I upgraded.

This is so absurd. I just spent an hour with Samsung. They insisted that I go through troubleshooting steps and assured me it would fix it, including factory reset. Don't bother. Didn't fix, as I knew it wouldn't. Lost all my art too. Samsung is clueless. If I were still within my return period, I'd be taking it back.
