No Longer Seamlessly Displaying Art Mode with Apple TV 4K

In the last few weeks, Samsung updated the OS to the Frame TV and a function that I regularly used is no longer available. I'm writing in hope that someone can suggest a workaround (or if Samsung engineers read this, to bring the function back).

I have an Apple TV 4K media streamer for my Frame 55" 2022 TV. I'm assuming that other media streamers such as Chromecast, Roku, etc. would have a similar behavior that I am getting now post-OS update.

Prior to the update, I would be watching TV using the Apple TV 4K steamer, conclude for the evening, power off the streamer with the Siri remote, and the Frame would instantly go into the Art Mode and display artwork for 30 minutes (my settings) before the Frame would go to sleep. Post upgrade, I power off the streamer (Apple tells me the streamer goes to sleep, not powering off), but instead of the Frame displaying artwork, it is searching for a media source:

My only recourse now is to use the Samsung remote and manually navigate to the Art Mode and select the artwork, a multi-step process.

Is anyone else who is using a streamer experiencing this, and do you have a workaround?

I upgraded to ATV version 17 and it did not fix the issue for me. Did you change any settings in ATV?

Please fix this. The whole reason for the Frame is a seamless TV to Art experience. I literally don’t use anything else and I’m forced to see antenna channels?

Took me days trying to figure out how to disable the horrible TV Plus  and now it’s just defaulting to antenna.. come on. Once this is fixed I’m disabling updates.

Same here on the "Never trust them with an automatic update ever again". I don't even use their "Smart" tv stuff because it's mostly  anyways. So if this issue can be fixed, I will turn automatic updates off and proceed to never again update this TV.

Having the same issue. Extremely frustrating as the reason I bought this Tv was to use my appletv and have art mode displayed when off. Now i just get this lame blue screen that says the antenna cable is disconnected. Samsung needs to get this fixed quick before i go buy a Sony TV

Created an account just to comment on this thread. Absolutely unacceptable behavior from Samsung to break the main selling point of the Frame TV, which is the seamless TV-to-art transition.

Just got the apple Tv and a the frame. Really disappointed that samsung has created a bug that effect so many and takes this long to fix..

I have the same issue. Just started in the last week. have followed the steps outlined by tech Russel but this only works once and then reverts to displaying SOURCE instead of clicking into Art Mode after powering off Apple TV

Another useless interaction with Samsung Support.  Referenced this thread.  Continued to not acknowledge the problem and call it a “glitch” and blame apple. What a joke.
