QLED and The Frame TVsIn the last few weeks, Samsung updated the OS to the Frame TV and a function that I regularly used is no longer available. I'm writing in hope that someone can suggest a workaround (or if Samsung engineers read this, to bring the function back).
Solved! Go to Solution.

QLED and The Frame TVsHave you tried it yet? It's not currently available in my region. I tried manually updating with the US version you linked to but it didn't pick up the update.

QLED and The Frame TVsJust updated to the latest firmware, no change. Turned my apple tv off after the update went straight into art mode, but after trying it again it went to “antena cable: disconected”.

QLED and The Frame TVsdid you try changing the way the ATV handles remotes and devices on the new firmware? maybe this will work?
--
I turned off CEC on the Frame and turned off the "control tv and receivers" setting in the Apple TV. Then restarted the Apple TV and that option in the Apple TV changed into "turn on your tv with your remote". Once you have that option you can enable it and it will put it into art mode. Leave CEC off on the Frame. -source

QLED and The Frame TVsTurning CEC does fix it for Apple TV, but then I can't turn on my TV with my Nintendo Switch (and presumably other devices)

QLED and The Frame TVsI have been in contact with what is purported to be the Office of the President. After some back and forth, they replied today with the following:
________________
Good afternoon, Mr. Weinberg,
Our specialist confirmed that this issue can be fixed with a software update. The updated file can be downloaded from the below link.
[The Samsung forum wouldn’t let me send the link. I have embedded it in my Google Drive at: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zjjSq-QwJcX_njP2mtdrH8j-rN-Nz7euoLbipUtIhTY/edit?usp=sharing]
Here’s the instructions:
- You need to download the updated file T-PTMAKUC.zip from the link above.
- Unzip the file and copy the folder T-PTMAKUC to the root of a USB drive
- Insert the USB in the one-connect box
- Go to Settings > Support > Software Update > Update Now
- Select Yes when the TV asks to update from the USB
- Wait until the update is done. The TV will power off and then back on when done
- Confirm the new version in the About TV screen in the Support menu. The latest version should be 1601.8
If you need further assistance, I can arrange for our specialist to contact you.
________________
Since my television works (through some adjustments that I can’t explain), I will not do any firmware upgrades until it has been demonstrated that it works for others. However, I would like to see a solution so I can benefit from future firmware upgrades (if I dare... I previuosly shut off auto-update on my television).
I don’t know if the firmware or the process is the same that others received or if it is different, but if it moves everyone in the right direction, great. If not, I will circle back with my Samsung contact saying “no go”.
David

QLED and The Frame TVsNeither 1523 nor 1601.8 can even be installed over 1520 (in the US at least). The TV will not take the update over USB, just shows "There are no new updates for you available at the moment"
