My Samsung Messages app keeps closing. I've restarted my phone multiple times. I've gone to Settings > App Settings > Messages > Storage and hit Clear cache and Clear data. When I do this, the space used for cache and data go down to 0, but then immediately go back up to the original storage amounts when I reopen Messages.

I found a previous conversation about Messages crashing in Dec 2023 and tried following the instructions but when I held down the power button and volume up with the phone turned off, the phone restarted as normal, even though I held them down until after the Samsung logo disappeared.

If I can't fix it, can I install a different app for

My Google storage is 94% full. Could that be connected?

As another person said, disabling google meet helps. I tried clearing cache but that didn't work so I came here and looked and disabled google meet and my app ended up working. It no longer crashes once I open it.

This has been posted a lot today. At the moment, the Samsung Messages app isn't working for a lot of people until it gets fixed. I suggested switching over to Google Messages until Samsung Messages starts working again

This Problem has been posted a lot today, because it Started Today! You suggested, that we should "Switch over to Google Messages, Until Samsung Messages "Starts Working Again". Are you Serious? Your Suggestion is Not a Solution, to Fix the Problem with our "Expensive Samsung Galaxy phones". Since you are Claiming to be, "Epic Samsung Care Ambassador". Why Don't You Contact Samsung "Tech Support" For a Proper Fix / Solution that is Affecting Many of us Samsung Phone Owners? Samsung "Should Send a Software Update / Patch to All Affected Samsung Phones". Telling users to Switch to Another Messaging App, Until Samsung Messaging App is Working again, is Absolutely Asinine! I mean, Like "WHEN WILL IT START WORKING AGAIN"? Tomorrow? Next Week? 6 Months? And Who will Notify Users, that Samsung Messaging App is Working Again, You???

Had this problem.. Saw in recent community post that if you find the Google Meet app. Long press, then select Disable, that will fix the problem. Worked for me. Not sure what is happening with Google and Samsung Messages but this all started yesterday

Since everyone else is saying it, I can't text and I'm very frustrated right now. I hope it's fixed by morning.
