My Samsung Messages app keeps closing. I've restarted my phone multiple times. I've gone to Settings > App Settings > Messages > Storage and hit Clear cache and Clear data. When I do this, the space used for cache and data go down to 0, but then immediately go back up to the original storage amounts when I reopen Messages.
I found a previous conversation about Messages crashing in Dec 2023 and tried following the instructions but when I held down the power button and volume up with the phone turned off, the phone restarted as normal, even though I held them down until after the Samsung logo disappeared.
If I can't fix it, can I install a different app for
My Google storage is 94% full. Could that be connected?
I realize that this is an older thread, but as if 5/29/24, this is still an issue, not just for me, but for all of my family & friends. We use Google Meet and the Samsung app to stay in touch. I'm at a loss. I think I'm going to install the "WHAT’S" app & Uninstalle Google Meet (or disable it anyway). I'm just really tired and frustrated about not being able to read all of my messages. It's to the point that it's ridiculous. I currently have 37 texts from family in Italy, France, Ohio, Florida, New York, and Louisiana, but I can't get my messages to staÿ open long enough to actually read them.
This is ridiculous, I have groups that I need to contact and cannot. I have family calling because I cannot return text messages. Samsung just needs to leave some things alone when they were working fine. Frustrated.
I didn't even know I have the Google Meet app on my phone. I did a force stop, rolled back the updates and disabled it. Now I have no issues with messages.
