Hey guys, we've been speaking with our specialist who recommends speaking with the cable company as there is the possibility that a setting exists in the cable box for a delayed start up or something similar that could potentially be causing the issue. Xodus2222, that particular issue does strike me as rather odd. Can you confirm if you have attempted a reset of the television?
My cable box is always on (doesn't turn off unless I long press the power button), so I'm not sure why that would cause an issue. The TV screen was going dark after a few seconds regardless of whether I was using the Samsung TV remote (not linked to the cable box) or the Xfinity remote (linked to cable box and TV). The issue would happen even if I were starting the tv on HDMI 3 where I use the Playstation 4.
Like I mentioned before, unplugging the tv for 30 seconds seemed to fix the issue temporarily, as did Resetting the entire TV. Those fixes lasted 3 or 4 days. Now that I turned off instant-on, I haven't had any problems.
Here is a video I filmed last month and shows what I'm talking about. https://youtu.be/txDNq6Qh9jk

Noticed there is a software update. I haven't downloaded it yet, maybe that's a fix.
What version is the software update? I've been having issues ever since the 1463 update that my JS7000 received a few weeks back. I'm curious if you already had that update or if it was a prior one.
And to answer your earlier question, Instant-On is a setting. I'm away for a few days, so I can't check exactly how to get there, but I think it may be somewhere under picture settings. Just browse around for it. Not entirely sure of how instant on works, but it just prevents your tv from being fully powered down. It usually saves a few seconds when powering back up, especially when accessing the smart hub apps.

My Samsung UN65JS8500 tv does the same thing. It doesn't matter if it's with HDMI1 and satellite box or HDMI3 and Xbox. After unplugging tv it fixes the problem for a few days then problem returns. Any true fix yet?
I turned off "Instant On" in the TV's settings and haven't had the problem since. Have you tried doing that yet?

I just did that but I'll have to wait a few days to find out if that works. Thanks for the quick reply. That really shouldn't be the answer though. I'll keep you updated.
No worries. I didn't expect it to be the solution either, but learned more and more that instant on causes numerous bugs for whatever reason. I switched it off a few months back and the tv hasnt had a single issue. Make sure you have the latest software update too. Hopefully it works for you! It's really annoying having to unplug the tv all of the time, especially if you have it mounted.

Was this ever fixed, I am having the same issue when connected to Directv? I have tried different cable boxes still the same issue on my Samsung TV brought a different TV to the same setup as the Samsung and it worked perfectly so not a cable issue must be a TV issue. I have a UN65KS800DF
