When I try to open a Samsung Notes file created before today's update, I get a message that says I have to install the Samsung Notes-Add On to open them. When I click install it wants to use something called package installer. But when I click on this it says that the source is unknown. I am not allowing anything unknown to install on my phone. What is going on? How do I access my old notes.
FYI...restarting the app, force stopping, and cache clearing have failed to resolve the problem.
I find it funny, that a Samsung Rep says that's it is safe to DL and assure us to do so, but when we bring up issues like.. "getting a warning sayings its an unknown source" and it not making sense.. the rep goes quite! Did Huawei buy you guys out? sounds like something they'd say to get into our personal data more than anything! Apple is sounding very good now, and i been a samsung user since the galaxy 4! Even though i know your customer service is garbage, i stayed.. idk anymore. Change my mind!
All you guys have to do is going to your notes and hit the 3 lines that are stacked to the left. Hit the settings button to the right top corner and then hit convert notes. Everything will be fine with no downloads!
There is a way to uninstall samsung notes version 4. and reinstall version 3.
After uninstalling the version 4 (may have to uninstall version 4 add on in the settings under apps)
all your notes will be gone but reinstall version 3 FROM the play store not galaxy store (as of 9/30/20).
After allowing permissions
turn on sync in the version 3 and allow it to reinstall your old notes.
*sync would have had to be on before uninstalling to HAVE notes to be restored, Samsung backup (in settings) doesnt seem to be able to restore samsung notes.
I love the old notes. Is there any way I can get them back. And is there any shortcut key for bolding texts in the new notes? In the old app, I could easily use the asterisk before and after a word to make it bolded. The new notes app just slows me down.
