Messages deleted issue

So my mom just called me and told me that she's been trying to text me, but she kept getting a deleted message back. I got no notifications, nothing. After she hung up, she tried texting again. This time I got all of them. She then text me screenshots of what her screen looks like. ..

I have no idea what happened.. Was it a fluke? Did others experience this this morning? Was it a weird Verizon thing for a couple hours? Do I need to update my apps? Is there a setting I'm missing..

You should always update apps, it may not help with your texting problem but my grandmother had a similar issue. Where she didn't get text or someone sent her a text in the morning and she got it at night, I had restarted her phone and that fixed the problem

Make sure you update your Google apps, including Google Play Services, Try sending her a text message to make sure everything is working correctly on your phone
