How do I keep my app from going dark without having to touch the screen every 5 seconds.?

Hello there! 🙂 Try adjusting Settings>Display>Screen timeout. You could also try turning on Settings>Advanced features>Motions and gestures>Keep screen on while viewing.

You can also use a app called "Caffeine" it is on the alt store of f-droid and it makes it so your screen doesn't turn off ever when you have it enabled. No 10 minutes or whatever the time limit is with stock setup (as per my s21 ultra).
