Why in the world would you take away the ability to back up our watches manually in the Wearable app? Make it make sense, I have to wait for what is now "PERIODICALLY" to back up my watch, how often is periodically? If you switch to store backups to Samsung Cloud, how does that work, when does that happen?

If anyone knows the answer please let me know!

It backs up between 1-5am if the watch is set up with Smart Switch, the phone is connected to Wi-Fi, the watch is connected to the phone, the screens on both devices are off, and the battery on both are high enough. I've gotten backups by following that procedure.

Same here Galaxy watch 5 pro after update I cannot back up my watch anymore, Also another problem is when receiving test messages the watch won't show the name only number. Samsung needs to fix this.

Just updated to OneUI 5 on my Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

Went well.
BUT, SERIOUS ISSUE:

THERE IS NO WAY TO MAKE BACKUPS OF WATCH NOW.

Under Accounts & Backup no entries for the use of Smart Switch to backup watch, nor the item for backing up watch data.

My faith that Samsung could NOT screw up an update proved to be false. They did.

I NEED THOSE OPTIONS BACK ASAP! OTHERWISE WILL HAVE TO STOP USING OR SUPPORTING Galaxy Watches. Without PROPER backup capabilities, the watch just sucks because if any issues happen, am . Period.

PLEASE fix ASAP Samsung.
Thank you.

The watch now automatically backs up data approximately every 24 hours, as long as the watch and phone are both above 30% power.

That blows chunks. I CANNOT keep both connected 24hrs a day. I want manual backups back. They are the ONLY VIABLE options for me. Samsung BROKE a very good rule:
"If it ain't broke, don't "fix" it.".
Well, now PROPER functionality is broken. Needs fixed. This idiotic idea does not work foe me, as now I essentially cannot back up when I want to. So, renders watch useless, as I try out various watchfaces, and if I like I run backup. This way if I later do anything bad, can easily and readily restore. Now have NO backups, and therefore can no longer use watch as I like. Seems wasted a lot of money for a paperweight.

The watch usually auto-backups when it's not in use, like when you're sleeping.

Still needs BT and/or WiFi on. I always shut both off... To you know to save battery. Still need manual backup no matter what tho. So, hope they bring back... SOON.
