Before a Samsung rep copies and pastes their long step-by-step solution and a link to a page that does not address this problem, please read:

I came into the kitchen and found it covered in water, the water dispenser on my refrigerator was running full blast.
1. I pressed the switch you use for water or ice, and it didn't stop
2. I changed the switch to ice (you can't get water and ice the same time), it didn't stop.
3. I opened the opposite door, which normally stops the water or ice.  It didn't

I called Lowe's extended warranty.  Today will be 24 days since my problem. Tech came 2 days later and has not called or answered our calls since.  Said it was a solenoid, and would take 4-5 days.  We've called his office, and his cell, nor answer or reply.  Lowe's says they "escalated" this to the next level and I would hear from someone in 2 business days.  This has been 3 different times.

If someone would just tell me what part I need, I'll order it and get my refrigerator working 100% again.  For a refrigerator less that 1½  years old and costs over $2,000, I shouldn't have to buy ice cube trays and make my own ice in a refrigerator with 2 (two) ice makers.

I have searched online, and I can't find a solution.  I also can't find from any parts warehouses what solenoid this model uses.   Your water hookup line used to be on the left bottom or right bottom directly into a solenoid that would turn on the water to the ice makers or water dispenser.  On this model, the line connects to a short water white line middle right side with blue lines feeding to the 3 areas in need (2 ice makers and water dispenser).

What part will fix this???    Don't send me to a troubleshooting page.  It's been looked at, and determined it's a defective part.

Can you get to the solenoid to see the part #? Seems Amazon has a variety of solenoids for Samsung fridges, but it goes by part # not fridge model #. Your manual might have a parts list chart.
found this: Samsung Fridge Solenoid it lists the model numbers but says not all supported model numbers are listed. There are also several other solenoids listed. Do a search. Be aware, though, that doing your own repair may void your extended warranty.

See my post above.  But thanks...

I did a quick search and the part appears to be:  da97-11436a

When the guy comes back, I'll see if he has to return the part for credit.  If not, I'll break it down and get to the solenoid and get that part number.

I suggested to just take the solenoid out and replace it from what he had.  But he said that it wasn't that hard to replace the entire assembly.

For me to get it now, I would have to remove both of the smaller drawers and the large drawer, pull the entire assembly out, including disconnecting the hoses from the back, etc.

But I will try to get that part number in case it helps someone else.

You mean *if* he comes back. Sounds like you are having issues in that regard.

If you open the freezer door and the water keeps running, then you need a water inlet valve. It comes complete with both solenoids and is located in the back of the unit, lower right-hand area behind the cardboard cover. Order part by model number. Plenty of videos on YouTube. If the water turns off when you open the freezer door, then you have a bad dispenser switch, located in the dispenser area.

The water usually shuts off if you change the selection from water to ice or crushed ice.   That didn't work.    Or, if you are getting either ice or water, and someone opens the other door, it would stop the dispensing.

Neither of these methods worked, leading to believe the solenoid is stuck or non-functioning.

I posted elsewhere that the repairman came, with the whole case filter aseembly which houses the water filter, and behind it is the solenoid.

Unfortunately, they sent the part for a refrigerator with only one ice maker, so there was only 3 hoses, instead of the needed 4.

After 26 days, the repairman came.   Had a huge box and when I answered the door he said "you'll never believe this"

I told him I already knew that this model doesn't have a standard solenoid mounted on the back.  I was correct.

A new solenoid is mounted in the plastic assembly from where the water filter is **bleep** in (and the part came with a new water filter), all the way to the back inside of the refrigerator, and there is a plastic piece that makes a 90º angle down.  The box it came in was about 18" X 14" X 6".

He proceeded to remove the meat and crisper drawers, and the large bottom one.  He was trying to pry the clips that hold the glass over that drawer, and I kept telling him you push in on both sides until it clicks then pull the glass up.  He didn't listen, and broke one off.

He removes the OEM part that has the water filter and hose assembly.  He looks at what he has and they look identical, EXCEPT, the new one has 3 hoses, and my OEM has 4.  He goes outside,  calls someone on the phone and explains what he has.  He comes back in, and I had figured it out.

What they sent is a part for a refrigerator with only 1 ice maker.  If you look from the back of the part forward, you can see the solenoid is now behind the water filter in this assembly.

I showed him that if you look at my OEM part, there are two switches on the solenoid, his has one.  That's why there isn't 4 hose lines.

He mumbles and says "this is the last Samsung I ever work on".  Puts everything back together and leaves.

26 days with a non fully functional refrigerator.

Is he going to replace your broken clip?

It's not replaceable to my knowledge.  I'm not really sure.    I just watched a bit of a YouTube video that shows how you're supposed to remove that shelf, and it does look like it's a separate part.

If so, I'm going to push for that to be replaced.  I just know he said "oh man, I broke the clip".  All the while I'm yelling for him to come look at the video on the proper way to release the shelf.

Here's the video, and it should start where he explains how to PUSH on the clips (not pry them with a screwdriver):
