When watching over the air/antenna programs, the TVs screen saver comes on every few minutes and is really annoying.

Anyone have this issue too, and how did you fix it, if so?
I can't find any USB update files for this model either.

From the SmartHub homepage, I went to APPS, then scrolled down to Downloaded App. It was all the way to the right. You could also Search for Chat Together from the App page.

You have to go through the terms and conditions first to leave the service. Or I suppose you could just delete the app and have the same effect.

Thanks! I found that you can delete the app altogether in the apps menu, gear icon in the top right.

Awesomeness! Thank you for the tip! It really looks like that might be it. Said the app was updated on 8-9, and that was right about when these problems started.

Hope that revolves the issues! 🤞

Well...sadly, this was not a fix. Watching AGT tonight. Things were fine until about 10 minutes ago. The screen saver has activated three times... Ugh...

Bummer. Sorry to hear that. The "fix" is still working well for me, but only time will tell.

Logically, it makes sense that, if the app is running in the background for popular shows, but the TV hierarchy registers it as the primary source rather than the channel itself--and you're not interacting with the app in any way--that the screen saver would appear. And it explains why it only seems to happen during sports/primetime TV. But I guess there's more to it.

The appearance of chat bubbles--even though I never actively opened or logged into the app--directly correlated to the onset of screen savers on my TV. I went into the app and disabled notifications and left the service before I deleted it, but you wouldn't think that the order of operations would matter. Once it's deleted, there's nothing left to run in the background.

I'll update if the problem reemerges.

Yeah... Strangely, the chat bubbles had stopped showing up about a couple of weeks ago without any action be me.

I decided to go ahead and delete the app anyway yesterday afternoon, but then the screen saver issue came back to haunt me late last night.

This morning, however, I have not seen the issue while watching the news. Very inconsistent and strange bug for sure

I think it comes on from the static image of the score when watching football.

No, the screen saver appears for pretty much all popular OTA content.

So here's the deal: you can't actually delete the Chat Together app. Every time I do, it just shows back up (on the right side of the screen and the App page) the next time that I turn on the TV, and then the screen savers reappear. There are a handful of apps (like Twitch) that it doesn't appear possible to permanently delete.

The only lasting thing that I've gotten to work so far is keeping the app intact, going into its settings, disabling the notifications, and then leaving the service. That has seemed to work between multiple power cycles.

If it reappears again, I will delete my Samsung account altogether, so the app has nothing to link to.

I'm 99.9% certain that the issue is the app. When you open Chat Together, it lists all the channels/shows that it currently has chat rooms open for, and it's always the programming where screen savers appear on my TV.

Worst case scenario: I have to leave the service or delete the app every time that I see screen savers while watching OTA, and that will at least last until I turn the TV off. Not ideal, but beats pressing a button every 3 minutes to exit the screen saver.

:hundred_points: Exactly what happened to me too. Checked again this morning. All bloat apps that I had deleted the other day, including we chat, have reappeared! ?! 🤬

So I disabled notifications and opted to leave the service again, but I did not delete any apps. Hopefully, this sticks and works this time 🤞
