Definetly, paint will solve the look issue. The thing is, itappears that the tv will tend to overheat and malfunction according to other post I read, had a sony previously as close to the wall as the frame, but the sony didnt leave any mark. Looking forward to a solution or the brand tells me, dont worry its normal the tv wont malfunction and if does, i will give a new one for free.
Paint the walls, we have 7 samsung tvs hung throughout our house, and we usually upgrade all 7 every year or every 2 years and our walls have discoloration every time.
TVs put out heat and if you're not cleaning the walls behind the tvs regularly, then yes your walls will become discolored
