TabletsOn my S5E
Any time I wake up my S5E a dialog box pops up that says "TV Mode keeps stopping".
When I select the "Close app" option in the dialog box the box goes away for a couple seconds then reappears. I have tried the suggestions I found on line, but nothing will correct the problem
!!!!!!!!! HELP !!!!!!!!
Solved! Go to Solution.

TabletsIt is incredible that this has not been fixed after over seven months! Has Samsung abandoned this device? Dragging the settings page open then selecting "close app" stops the issue until the next time settings is open or the tablet requires the password. This is beyond irresponsible. All owners of tablets with this problem should be immediately supplied with new, working tablets plus compensation:
Without some apology and recompense, I will never buy a Samsung product again, and I will tell my friends.

TabletsThe following seems to have worked for me: allow TV Mode in Settings>Advanced. Grant TV Mode permission to change system settings in Settings>Apps. Open TV Mode. Immediately close TV Mode. Disable TV Mode in Settings>Advanced. Revoke the permission to change system settings in Settings>Apps. Reboot. I don't know whether all of th steps are necessary, but it worked—presumably because it allowed TV Mode to change a system setting.
I am not happier than before: There is a reason Android makes it possible to block an app from changing system settings. I have no idea what Samsung just did to my tablet thrugh the back door, and Samsung should have provided a solution by designing their software correctly in the first place or fixing it as soon as the problem appeared. They should also have responded to this forum months ago.
Was this an attempt to strong arm everyone into using the TV Mode? If so, that is even worse—why should we be forced to let Samsung know what we are watching?

TabletsI had the same problem. I dropped down the icons from the top of the screen. There is a tv mode icon. Press and hold until the screen with Direct TV and such. Turn the toggle switch off. That ended it for me. Good luck.

TabletsThe only way I could get that annoying thing to go away was by doing a factory reset. After I did a factory reset it never appeared again.

TabletsI did a factory reset and the next day the pop ups started appearing again. My little was using the tablet for distance learning so could imagine the frustration. No other permanent fixes from Samsung out there?

TabletsDoes anyone from Samsung monitor this thread. How is there not a fix for this yet? As mentioned before, just tell how to delete TV Mode. We all paid good money for something that is not working properly.

TabletsHi everyone, New tablet & this was hounding me. Read all this stuff with no results for me. I noticed that if I went into notifications panel & exited, then I could stop it (with end app) until next screen sleep - this stopped it popping up every few seconds. So i was doing that until I realized I could try starting the app to get to settings. No luck, thing just wouldn't start up. Then went to general apps settings, saw the same window as when it stopped each time, but this time scrolled down, gave it ALL permissions for everything. Now I could start the app! (Button in notification panel now works) OK, having done this, when i do activate the app it takes me to Play Store to download HBO - didn't do that and exited. Bottom line, no more issues of any kind. Turns out the app was stopping all the time because it couldn't start! Good luck...
