Home Theater
Only logic. These are my assumptions. And yours can be, too, if you ponder your brain. Why should SAMSUNG create problems for itself? Every software has a vulnerability. If not Samsung, then who? We draw conclusions ourselves.

Home TheaterNo logic or factual information from you whatsoever - have you any application technical or networking background whatsoever to even have an inkling of possible valid causes of this type of problem which could gave been totally not easily forseen by Samsung?

Home TheaterSame here. The lack of substantive communications from Samsung is stunning. Does Samsung realize or even care about the global publicity they are receiving about this widespread problem?

Home TheaterAccording to this article; https://www.pcmag.com/news/samsung-blu-ray-players-are-stuck-in-a-reboot-loop-and-nobody-knows-why , Samsung exited the Blu Ray Player market last year and has no incentive to fix the problem.
According to this facebook link Samsung caused the probem themselves; https://www.facebook.com/groups/561079594538531/permalink/563390647640759/
Samsung sent out an update that casused the problem. Interesting that Samsung posts that information on facebook, but makes no mention of it here on their own community forums?????
If Samsung has exited the Blu Ray player market why would they bother issuing an update?? Makes no sense. Unless what they mean by exiting the Blu Ray market is that they are taking down all their previously sold models too. They seem to have an "It's my ball, and I'm goinng home" attitude.

Home TheaterPC mag wrote an article about this:
https://www.pcmag.com/news/samsung-blu-ray-players-are-stuck-in-a-reboot-loop-and-nobody-knows-why
Article starts with this: "Samsung has yet to comment, ..."
And here are more industry web site articles:
https://www.extremetech.com/electronics/311949-many-samsung-blu-ray-players-are-boot-looping
ends with this statement: "We’ll update this story when and if Samsung responds."
https://www.techspot.com/news/85716-samsung-blu-ray-players-stuck-boot-loop.html
also ending with this statement: "Samsung hasn’t released an official statement regarding the problem, but the company will certainly be aware of it. "
"We’ve reached out to Samsung for more details."
https://lifehacker.com/what-to-do-if-your-samsung-blu-ray-player-stopped-worki-1844121127
with the only 'promissing' comment I've seen so far "Samsung says the problem is fixable on its end and that there’s no need for physical repairs at this time, which is good news for those experiencing the annoying bug. Unfortunately, no home remedies have been found yet for those what want to skip the waiting game and solve the problem themselves. Users will have to wait for Samsung to push the fix. We’re not sure when that will be released, nor how users will need to install it, so you’ll want to keep an eye on your email inbox, the Samsung support forums, and Samsung’s official social media accounts for the official word."
https://news.yahoo.com/reboot-loop-why-samsung-blu-152700622.html
but this article shows no hope of a resolution; "The issue was also discussed on the Samsung community forum, with a community manager named "SamsungSabrina" posting Saturday that "we are aware of customers who have reported an issue with boot loops on some Blu-Ray players and we are looking into this further. We will post an update here on this thread when we have more information." Beyond that, there hasn't been an official corporate communication from Samsung, at least as of Monday morning."
As I read these articles an old rock-n'-roll song started playing in my head;
"Silence is golden
But my eyes still see
Silence is golden, golden
But my eyes still see"

Home TheaterThe lack of information from Samsung on this issue is shocking and unacceptable.
I have been unable to use my Blu Ray Player for almost a week now. In that time there has been hardly any information posted from Samsung.
Why hasn't there been an offical statement about this problem?
Do they not care about their customers ?

Home TheaterThey should be concerned about the loss of future potentioal customers. I've already replaced one of the three "down" Samsung players and it wasn't a Samsung product. If I replace the other two it won't be Samsung either.

Home TheaterI'm already doing some comparison shopping. If I have to pay for repairs to my Samsung Blu-ray, I'll buy a new unit instead. Of course, it won't be a Samsung. And of course, I'll keep this incident in mind whenever shopping for any other electronic product.
