Howdy. I have a Q800T. It is working on HDMI, and also working as an Alexa device. I can control it with my voice, and I can see it as a device in both the Samsung SmartThings and Amazon Alexa mobile apps.

I have a lot of Amazon Echo devices, and I use them as part of speaker groups to play multiroom audio (e.g. "Alexa, play Bob Dylan everywhere"). MY QUESTION: IS THERE A WAY FOR ME TO ADD THE Q800T TO AN ALEXA SPEAKER GROUP? It isn't showing up on a scan in HDMI, WiFi, or BT modes. Thanks!

Hello,

@Anonymous : Seems that Multi-Room is available in Amazon's SDK & APIs since 2018... so this is just a matter of implementing it for your dev guys:

https://developer.amazon.com/en-US/docs/alexa/mrm/multi-room-music-sdk-overview.html

Any feedback on this?

Thanks.

@SamsungLK  Do you have any updates from the engineering team and the ability to integrate Samsung Q800T soundbars into Alex's multi-room music feature?  It seems the ability is there, as other manufacturers have integrated using the SDK/API's.  Would be great to know how far along this is in the Samsung pipeline for a firmware update.

Seems Polk Audio achieved this using SDK a year ago...

I have Samsung everwhere in my house, may need to rethink this if they cannot support their products?  I am still feeling the burn of my expensive 75" Samsung TV not being supported with firmware upgrades anymore for Smart features.  Was told buy Samsung to plug a Firestick into it for Smart features going forward  😞

Hi guys, just bought a Q6DT and have same issue, very frustrating.   I may have a workaround although, as this worked on my previous non-smart tv: with an Amazon Fire TV stick plugged in to an available hdmi port, I could link tv to  everywhere speaker group and view the music graphic and even lyrics while streaming to all echoes.   I have yet to test this on new TV (as seems now need to pull off the wall and plug in firestick darn it!), but I would assume should work.   For $39.99 on Amazon 4k stick may be worth it, especially if you have a sound bar.

Such a cool feature once you set the delay correctly on the tv to sync the music ( mine was about 200ms delay fyi) as sound comes faster through tv than over the echoes.

Will post here again once I get it plugged in...

@userZz3y7rOoyv   I will be happy to add this to our engineering ticket. Could you please provide the full model number and software version for your television?

Exact same issue with Q950t speaker bar. Functions as an Alexa -- can play music, control smart devices, ask questions. However, cannot seem to add to a speaker group. Since this would be the "best" Alexa speaker that I own, that would be a pretty important thing to add to functionality. However, I also am experiencing music dropouts when using the Q950t to stream Amazon Music (which does not happen with any of my standalone Amazon Echo units  -- I have 7 of them throughout the house). So, can the Q950t be added as part of an Alexa speaker group AND can Samsung please fix the WiFi music dropouts occurring with Amazon Music? Thanks.

Very well worded sir!  I have same issue with brand new Q950T.  Love the Soundbar, Hate not being able to use it with all the other Echo speakers in my house.  😞

I have a q70t soundbar & amalso having the same problem. I am unable to add the connected soundbar to an alexa speaker group, even though I am able to see it in the alexa app as well as tell alexa to play music to it. It is connected to my tv via hdmi/arc and the alexa connection is via wifi. I note that there are 2 pages of users experiencing the same problem without resolution. I have had other issues with my Samsung q80t that are also unresolved after reaching out to Samsung. It seems like these products are being released without adequate testing for the functionality of advertised features. I have been a loyal Samsung user for many years but am disappointed in their response in resolving issues such as these

Just wanted to note I am having the same issue on Q900T and alexa multi room setup. The system does not show up as a speaker and cannot sync with the other speakers in the group. Very disappointing.
