Home TheaterOk, I have two Samsung Blu-Ray players. My BD-J5100 has the cycle on/off issue, but my BD-P1600 does not. The BD-P1600 is a much older model used only for 3D Blu-Ray. I was hesitant to turn it one after reading about this, but I figued if I had to send them in, I might as well do both at once.
I had recently added a Roku to my 3D projector setup as the apps on the BD-P1600 had a lot of issues. I also recently replaced an even older Samsung Blu-Ray player that was having trouble loading disks.
While I have been a loyal customer for years, I've noticed that their quality has declined. Our LG refrigerator is so much better than our Samsung that when we needed a new washer and dryer, we went straight to LG.
Just as Sony was once the top choice, it may be time to move on from Samsung. That being said, my new Sony Blu-Ray player is great.

Home TheaterI reluctantly have to join the ranks of the Blu-ray player power cycling whenever plugged in gang. I have 2 BD-J5700's, and all of a sudden, they are both doing the same thing!!!! I have been looking at these posts, and decided to join because I fear you may not be aware of the magnitude of the situation. Probably, just as many if not MORE folks are suffering the problem as are reporting it.
No amount of unplugging or holding down the eject button have any effect - and I how have to UNPLUG the unit, because it hijacks the TV whenever it cycles and resets the input to DVD. Nasty!! Please devote some serious effort to the remediation of this problem.

Home TheaterMy BD JM57 has started to cycle on and off. The only way to stop it is to unplug it. When I plug it back in it starts doing it again.

They haven't posted it, but all you have to do is call samsung at 1-800-samsung, get past the automated attendent, talk to a person and tell them that you have a bad blu ray player that is in a boot loop. They will take your name and number, email you a return lable and you send it to them. They will fix and return, no charge for shipping or repair. Mine is on it's way right now.

Home Theaterwhen do you think we will have a solution? My BD-JM57C appears to have this issue about 1 or 2 week ago...
@The BOSS lady wrote:We are aware of customers who have reported an issue with boot loops on some Blu-Ray players and we are looking into this further. We will post an update here on this thread when we have more information.
