I have a BD-J5700 with the same error. I'm posting here in the event updates are sent to people who've reported problems in this thread. More communication would be helpful...

It's been about 5 days, and still no progress. I would like to use my HT-J5500W for the surround feature while it's connected with my other entertainment center devices. Now I'm wondering if my Samsung smart televisions are going to go out next!

Seems like a lot of people are having the same problem which started at the same time/day. My Blueray DVD player was working fine for years, then 2 days ago it is stuck in a loop of turning on and off.  There is a dvd stuck in the player (which is not good because I borrowed the disc so hopefully I can get it back!) I tried unplugging the player for several different times but no luck. The power button and the open/close tray button will not work since it turns on/off too fast, everyone 3 seconds.  This must be a software update that Samsung put out there without checking it worked properly.  Not happy!!

What if enough of us were contact Sony, LG or other competitors for a trade in discount for the defective Samsung product(s) we have right now?  Just a thought!  A frustrated thought from not having a solution.

I have two BD-J5500E, one has this problem and the other seems immune for the moment (both are connected to internet).
